The Vice President VAIRA expresses its disagreement with this proposal, together with the President and the Vice-President Mottini ARENA, because the Commission is an institution and an informal group of the shipyard. The Secretary Grandinetti, Coordinator of the Environmental Sustainability of the Student Senate, said that, being that of Vice-President VAIRA an easy communication, debate and does not admit that the issue will be a specific item on the agenda of the next session.

2. Resolution on Academic Senate expanded the motion on November 13,

ARENA The President summed up the situation derived from the enlarged session of the Academic Senate, held on November 13, 2008 Rector.

Sen. BIASCA expresses its willingness to take a vote on the motion of Objective Students sent to all senators via e-mail and already discussed in the Standing Committee (the document):

Turin, November 14, 2008

Subject: Student Senate motion in relation to the Conference of the University of November 13, 2008 .

On November 13, 2008 was held the Conference of the university where some students have taken in relation to L. 133 and the forms of protest that are generated against this legislative measure.
A student, coordinator of the Assembly No-Gelmini, has asked to be considered the only channel of communication with academic institutions with regard to the contents of the Law on the University. The president
Student Senate Alice Arena said that the Board of the University of student representative is elected democratically with regular elections: the Student Senate. No one can self-appointed student representative.
was then read out the motion approved in Student Senate, the result of comparing the merits of the issues in broader awareness of the role of the Body.
Alice Arena has shown great courage in the situation without being intimidated by threats of a minority and was the only one who truly represent the student component.
Therefore we express the greatest respect and unity against della Presidente Alice Arena e di tutti coloro che difendono la democrazia e le sue Istituzioni.

CARAPELLUCCI, ricorda che la solidarietà between the individual becomes a person and not through motions. It also underlines that the Student Senate is a collegial body and the University

Secretary GRANDINETTI says that if someone has been threatened, anyone, should receive the solidarity of people, but that does not pull in the middle of democracy and institutions . Therefore affirms its intention not to participate in the vote.

Sen. GARINO requests reasons for doing so.

GRANDINETTI The Secretary responds that solidarity can not be submitted to the vote of a written document only as a provocation and an excuse, using an isolated episode to go against a peaceful and democratic student movement which promoted culture, participation, debate and discussion. He continued by defining the contents of the motion proposed by Objective Students literally as "an avalanche of bullshit."

Sen. Bosonetto agrees with the Secretary GRANDINETTI and deepens the issue is not remembering that one of the tasks of the Student Senate to give solidarity to this or that personal offense, but deeper issues of student interest in this regard to solve practical problems and not on the basis of words out of place in motions presented as out of place. The Mirror

Sen. expresses agreement with Sen. BIASCA pointed out the inconsistency of the majority does not agree with and specifying the scelta di uscire dalla sala al momento del voto.

3. Draft guidance for students with the Provincial average;

The ARENA President shall inform the Student Senate intends to propose a plan for the guidance of high school, indicating that this is a law student and not just a service that the University should seriously and ensure quality.
The President claims to be already in contact with the President of the Provincial Board of Higher Institutes of Turin and in the future also has to contact the Provincial Board of Biella. Goes on to say that the project would be completed by May in order to be operationally effective for freshmen next year (2009/2010 registrations) and supports the possibility of allocating funds for this initiative.

Sen. CARAPELLUCCI intervenes saying that would be useful to the Commission's involvement Orientation and Mentoring University to coordinate the entire campaign, giving a more institutional character of the initiative. He added that it would be advisable to schedule it in order to effectively influence the choices of the University.

Sen. MILE agrees on the proposal of the President and the Sen CARAPELLUCCI, also on the schedule, and proposed to contact the student organizations that deal with guidance, in addition to involving those affected, to increase their effectiveness and make students protagonists of the guarantee of a right and a useful service. The President

ARENA defer any further discussion at the next session when there will be more information and data to prepare an operational work of this initiative.

4. Draft Resolution "PoliMovie"

ARENA The President introduced the topic stating how this initiative has already been discussed at the ordinary meeting of 23 July 2008 (see the minutes, No. 10). Goes on to say that now, at Student Senate, is not got no plan initiative.
According to the President it is a good idea but the method of financing is not subject to any rules, because the Student Senate can not donate funds to any association o gruppo di studenti che si presenti, ma bisogna partecipare ai bandi dedicati alle organizzazioni studentesche.

It would be better to draw up an agreement between the association and the University for the use of such areas. Regarding funding, contending that it is the Ateneo, not to the Student Senate, any finance student activities, but that is not available by the University in this regard. He concludes that the Student Senate can not deal with the funding it, I of the Convention.

ARENA The President intervenes in mind that the answer must be given in the meeting today at the express request of the association PoliMovie.

Sen. BIASCA states that the Association should go PoliMovie the best possible logistical support from the Student Senate, but that the funding of € 10,000.00 is not possible in these terms, since the combination PoliMovie should have thought before and participate in the selection of student organizations like everyone else.

ARENA The President opened the vote:

not the calls for debate on other topics. However, a student

Wave Turin, Philip Orton of the Faculty of Foreign Languages \u200b\u200band Literatures, has applied to take action on behalf of students engaged in mobilizing present during the day.
The intervention is as follows:

" Today the wave enters the Senate, and what he brings with him more proactive, or his yard.
"

Sen. CARAPELLUCCI states participate in the Wave Yard because it believes that this is a useful, information, training, discussion and comparison of the various academic components of the measures the Government on the University . She says she can not understand how the Student Senate to bear the demands of the student movement, noting that this body has taken a position contrary to the Law 133/08 at its meeting on November 10, 2008 (Minutes No. 14).

Another student Turin Wave, Andrea Ajmar of the Faculty of Political Science, expressed the reasons for the decision of the Wave di svolgere i lavori del Cantiere proprio nella sala di riunione del Senato degli Studenti con il seguente intervento:

Occupare il Senato Studenti significa porre al centro anche questa dinamica, mettere discussion in the forms of representation as practiced today are
remind everyone that the Student Senate at the beginning of mobilization is the organ that has refused, in an enlarged session of September 24, 2008, to discuss the merits of the Law 133. The same
Student Senate has voted for an opposition paper to the Law 133/08, but with a delay of over one month than the thousands of students in mobilization.
Moreover, apart from rare exceptions, the representatives who would serve the interests of us male and female students have never helped the movement and non-members.
For these reasons and others contiguous, we made the decision to move the meeting in the Yard sala del Senato Studenti: è un modo come altri per dare visibilità e riconoscimento al lavoro che stiamo facendo noi e di cui voi non siete parte.

How To Recondition Muscles

POVERTA' AL VERTICE FAO

The FAO Director General Jacques Diouf today launched a heartfelt appeal to world leaders to commit 30 billion dollars a year to re-launch agriculture and avert future threats of conflicts over food . In an impassioned speech during the opening ceremony of the Safety Summit food, Diouf pointed out that in 2006 the world has spent 1.2 trillion dollars on arms while food wasted in a single country totaled $ 100 billion worldwide obesity causes excessive fuel consumption of 20 billion dollars.
"Faced with this scenario, how can we explain to people of good sense and good faith that it was not possible to find 30 billion dollars a year to enable 862 million hungry people to enjoy the most basic human right: the right to food and thus the right to life? ", Dr Diouf asked.
"This is the magnitude of resources that could permanently stop the specter of conflicts the food that are looming on the horizon, "he added

Biointensive GROW - nurture Biointensive

John Jeavons in 1972 started the program sustainable mini-farming" Grow BIOINTENSIVE .

Its biologically intensive method, now adopted in 130 countries, is inspired by the work of well-known horticulturist Alan Chadwick, and combines the most vital agricultural techniques modern ingenuity of ancient civilizations.
The basic idea is that a large scale production of food in a small plot of Ground yourself by maintaining healthy soil and using a minimum amount of water.

According to Jeavons, traditional farming practices deplete our soil from 18 to 80 times faster than the non-use to regenerate it.
The secret method "Grow BIOINTENSIVE is the ability to regenerate the earth at speeds up to 60 times higher than in nature.
Each region of the world, however, requires a formula to measure. The oppressed and impoverished areas by drought obviously derive great benefit from this method, which uses much less water than the food product, but warns that Jeavons' Grow BIOINTENSIVE, or approaches to agricultural altrettanto efficaci, dovrebbero essere applicati subito, prima che sia troppo tardi.

Rispetto all'agricoltura commerciale si utilizza :

  • da 67% a 88% in meno di acqua

  • da 50% a 100% in meno di fertilizzanti

  • 99% less energy.

also agriculture GROW BIOINTENSIVE:

  • produces from 2 to 6 times more food

  • regenerates the ground at a speed 60 times faster than nature

  • reduced by more than half the surface to grow

The site http://www.growbiointensive.org/index.html Biointensive devoted to agriculture, farming techniques used with this practice are summarized in 8 points I have set forth below in the original language:

  • Double-Dug, Raised Beds

  • Composting

  • Intensive Planting

  • Companion Planting

  • Carbon Farming

  • Calorie Farming

  • The Use of Open-Pollinated Seeds

  • A Whole-System Farming Method

follows a free translation Description of these techniques always taken from the site growbiointensive.org:

Most life in nature is through the soil, water, air and sun.
The practice of soil preparation GROW Biointensive is through the creation of seed beds increased with more surface area to maximize the effect of natural processes.
Through the double-digging, with loose soil to a depth of 60 cm (24 inches), the aeratura soil facilitates root growth and increases water retention.
health and vigor of the soil are maintained through the use of the compound. A more

Most life in nature occurs at the interface of soil, water, air and sun. GROW BIOINTENSIVE soil preparation practices create growing beds with more surface area to maximize the effect of nature’s life processes. Double-dug beds, with soil loosened to a depth of 24 inches, aerate the soil, facilitate root growth, and improve water retention. The health and vigor of the soil are maintained through the use of compost. Close plant spacing is used to protect soil microorganisms, reduce water loss, and maximize yields. Companion planting facilitates the optimal use of nutrients, light and water, encourages beneficial insects and Creates a vibrant mini-ecosystem Within the garden. A focus on the production of calories for the farmer and carbon for the soil That ensures Both the farmer and the soil will be adequately fed and That the farm will be Sustainable. The use of open-pollinated seeds helps to preserve genetic diversity and enables Gardeners to Develop Their Own acclimatized cultivars. All of the components of this system must be used together for optimum effect and to Avoid Depleting the soil.

At this point the question arises:

Biointensive agriculture and organic farming in general, will be able to meet demand nearly seven billion human beings?
If this were possible, an agriculture that uses up to 99% less energy than current agricultural practices, could be used as the sole source of renewable energy only.
freeing agriculture on oil and fossil fuels, we guarantee our future and the future of our children.

Minidv Or Avchd In 2010

La cesta di verdura

's view that the common problems associated with oil and global warming can be solved only from above, by our governments or international institutions like the UN .
We were wrong!
problems we can solve them only us ordinary citizens and consumers, radically changing our habits and thus inducing the various economic sectors to elaborate new systems of cultivation, production and distribution.
An example is described in the post of Eco Alfabeta purchase of organic vegetables delivered each week directly from the manufacturer at home.
Alfabeta Eco sums up 8 points, the benefits obtained in this way:
  1. comes from farming, which does not use fertilizers and pesticides, fossil or other treatment agents.
  2. is part of a short chain, very short indeed, since It is collected in the morning, walk a few dozen miles and reach the recipient shortly after. There are no middlemen.
  3. are not used disposable plastic bags and baskets are continually reused.
  4. just a half can deliver the vegetables to a number of people do not have to mobilize other cars.
  5. The vegetables must be washed, cleaned and cooked, which stimulates the manual work and culinary creativity and eliminates the use of frozen vegetables.
  6. There is no waste because the amount is right for the weekly number of eaters, so do not throw anything.
  7. The manufacturer does not intend to deliver the vegetables over a distance its fields and does not intend to grow its business much beyond its current size, which are those of a family business.
  8. The vegetables are always varied, fresh and delicious, very hearty soup of water and chemicals such as vegetables (fertilization with urea suggests a lot of water to the cells).
I add the following points:
  • not using the cold chain and means of transport and refrigerated, with lower power consumption.
  • is retrained local agricultural land through organic farming will be fertilized only with natural methods.
  • We consume only vegetables and fruits in season getting used to the alternation of the consumer flavors in close relation with the changing seasons. It gives new breath to
  • a local economy that will no longer be totally dependent on oil prices and international markets.
The last point can be realized only if consumers recognize the added value of organic agricultural products of short chain and if at the same time, the manufacturer gives all guarantees that its products are genuine and most importantly, I will never cease to repeat it, local !

I cinesi e gli indiani vogliono raggiungere lo stesso tenore di vita di noi occidentali, se l'agricoltura finds another way to support its production volume could we in the West to achieve their current standard of living, which would not be so dramatic, but it is difficult to imagine what would happen to all those people who still struggle to have enough food to a dignified life!

L'agricoltura e il petrolio

Modern agriculture has allowed the development of all other economic systems.
The higher yield of crops and livestock has freed farm workers, making possible the manufacturing revolution of the twentieth century and subsequently, the development of tertiary and computerization. The abundance
of food and the low value of agricultural products, in relative terms, has freed resources for the production and consumption of goods so-called "consumer".
Since modern agriculture is dependent almost exclusively on oil, this situation could change abruptly when oil production reached its peak, maximum crude oil production of good quality followed by decreasing trend.
Already today we see the first signs of the increase in the price of some food and we are still not certain that oil production has begun its decline!
But let us see why modern farming is so tied to the price oil and in the future because it will not be able to maintain the same levels of production even if the stable price of oil.
The mechanical revolution of agriculture in the first half of the twentieth century was followed by the chemical revolution through the use of inorganic nitrogen fertilizers, synthesized by petrochemical processes.
These revolutions have launched agricultural yields and at the same time sharply reduced the number of employees in the sector.
Consider, for example, a farmer in the mid-nineteenth century produced enough food to feed four people for seventy-eight today!
The intensive monoculture has allowed economies of scale, increasing productivity, but also required increasing amounts of pesticides.
These pesticides deplete biological diversity and pollute groundwater.
The disappearance of microscopic bacteria, fungi, algae and protozoa, as well as worms and arthropods caused by pesticides, accelerates the process of erosion and soil depletion.
The result is an endless race to a higher energy input to maintain high crop yields by land poorer.
It is estimated that in the decades after World War II, the total energy input increased by 70%, but food production has grown by only 30%.
At this point we are left with only one road, the return to organic farming and traditional!
But the way in this direction will not be easy or immediate as the agricultural land treated with pesticides and chemical fertilizers can take more than a decade to return to natural fertility. The agricultural land
treated without chemical fertilizers produce only between 5 and 20% of what it produces today. Without
petrochemicals, which means a drop in productivity by 80 / 95%.
is why we can no longer afford to wait until the oil reaches such high prices to justify a massive conversion to organic / traditional.
We must now recover from those lands that have been treated for too long, we have to give back to the ground all that we have taken, and with interest!
If these choices will not be implemented from now, when oil and all its derivatives have reached unsustainable prices, we risk that the economic crisis that will result will lead to the abandonment of agriculture trade.
soils without chemical fertilizers, will soon become a barren land exposed to erosion!
